Monster

It
was conceived
 in the womb
of my
selfishness
It was
nourished by the walls
of
darkness
that surrounded
me;
It grew stout
and firm within
me
A fortress
 within a prison
within
A castle
and garden of
 prickly thorns.
It thirsted
for life amid
my solitary existence
It grew!
It grew!
It fed
off my negativity with
relish
Tore rivers of
blood
within me
It bawled
 for blood, death
Gore.
Eyes closed, I watched
it commit
The seven
unforgivable sins
I
 watched
And did
nothing
Could
do nothing.
