Forget Me Not!

Once upon an eon

Past

Rainbow-sky dazzled

The eye

Of man and beast

Rainbow-clouds tamed

The wild

As we know it now

And all was smiles.

A day on horseback in haste

Came knocking

Required Sky a visit she make

To a secret hide away beyond

the horizon

and Sky was gone for not long

by finger count

and on her return

not one eye shied

with knowing

no smiling hand

cooed in greeting

the slate of mind

clean was wiped

the old was dead

and long buried

the flowers

withered.

Sky was heartbreaking

With every breaking, broken

Sigh

But alas!

She couldn’t turn tail

NO!

This was her only

Home

So from that day-

Still counting

Sky is blue,

White, gray and black

Shades all mourners,

By sorrow

Vowed

And thieves alike

As one

Subscribe.

To remind herself

A rainbow beams

At times

At the world’s end

Where none may reach
